Abstract

Enterprise security governance across hybrid cloud environments has become increasingly complex due to the integration of on-premises infrastructure, public cloud platforms, private clouds, and distributed applications. Traditional perimeter-based security models are insufficient to address evolving cyber threats, identity-related vulnerabilities, regulatory obligations, and inconsistent security configurations across interconnected environments. This study examines the integration of Zero-Trust Architecture (ZTA) and intelligent compliance monitoring as a comprehensive approach to strengthening enterprise security governance. The research explores how continuous identity verification, least-privilege access control, microsegmentation, adaptive authentication, and centralized policy enforcement can improve organizational security. It also investigates the role of artificial intelligence, machine learning, automated configuration assessment, and continuous compliance monitoring in identifying policy violations and reducing governance gaps. A qualitative research approach supported by a structured review of academic literature, cybersecurity frameworks, industry standards, and documented implementation practices is proposed. The study evaluates governance effectiveness through security visibility, compliance consistency, threat detection capabilities, access-control accuracy, and incident-response efficiency. Particular attention is given to interoperability, legacy infrastructure, privacy protection, implementation costs, and organizational readiness. The research conceptualizes an integrated governance model that aligns zero-trust principles with automated compliance intelligence, enabling enterprises to establish measurable, risk-based, and continuously adaptive security controls across hybrid cloud infrastructures.
